Easy to make sugar cookie ice cream bowls

Easy to make sugar cookie ice cream bowls.

Here is a super simple, fun way to make ice cream bowls. All you need is cookie dough, I have included a recipe but you can experiment with other kinds of cookie dough to find your families favorite. No need to buy a fancy pan either, just turn your ordinary muffin pans upside down and follow the directions below for some super yummy ice cream bowls.

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon no color almond extract

Makes:

Approximately 12 bowls

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray the outside of each bowl cavity on your muffin pan with vegetable pan spray.

Step 2

In medium bowl, combine flour and salt. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.

Step 3

Roll out dough on generously-floured surface to 1/8 in. thickness. Cut 4-1/2 in. circles from dough.. Drape one circle over each bowl cavity of pan, pressing to form smooth surface.

Step 4

Bake 11-13 minutes or until cookie cups are firm and golden brown. Cool on pan on cooling rack 10 minutes. Loosen bottom edges of cookies from pan using small spatula. Carefully remove cups from pan and cool completely. Wash, dry and spray pan; repeat with remaining dough.

The greatest salad solution ever

I am always looking for great ideas to help me be healthier and lose weight. I love salads but really dont have enough time in the mornings to make them and salad from the night before is just not right. So, I started looking for solutions and this is what I came up with.

This idea was inspired by the McDonalds salad shakers……what a great idea that was! Now I make the entire weeks worth of lunch Sunday night and am set for the week. Heres how to do it….

Use mason Jars….or another similar jar

Add your salad dressing first…..This is very important you dont want to let your dressing touch your greens at all!

Add all the veggies you want

Then add your greens to the top…..I prefer spinach but it works the same with all greens.

Then at lunchtime shake and enjoy!

Homemade exfoliating body scrub

If you have spent any time at the mall in the past few years Im sure you have been harassed by the little kiosk owners trying to sell your their amazing body scrub product. Their claim is that their sea salt scrubs are made by the salt found in the Dead Sea which they claim is therapeutic. Reality check, you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars or travel the world to get your hands on some amazing beauty product. I will show you how for a couple dollars you can receive the same results as all these expensive products without the outrageous cost just by making your own.

Caution……These types of sea salt exfoliates are not meant to be used on the face. They are great for sloughing dry skin off of elbows, knees, ankles and arms. For best results, scrub the sea salt into the rough areas of your skin while showering. This will buff the dead skin off and cleanse your skin to allow the essential oils to be absorbed.

SEA SALT SCRUB

    2 tablespoons sea salt
    3 teaspoons grated ginger
    1 finely grated lime peel
    6 slices of cucumber, chopped
    1/2 fl.oz. almond oil

Use on the driest, roughest areas that need the most exfoliation. I blend this together in a food processor for the best result.

GREEN TEA SCRUB

    2 tablespoons green tea leaves
1 tablespoon uncooked brown rice with the husk still on
    1 teaspoon honey
    1/2 fl.oz. sweet almond oil

Blend together with a wooden spoon, use on the more delicate areas of the body, like neck and chest.
